F.J. Frobose is the man responsible for getting me involved in racing pigeons. That's another long story, but when F.J. came to me and wanted something untypical of the other breeding ads, I sat down and thought, ok, what would be truly different. Answer: Place one of his champions on a page with scenery normally flown over his race course. I used this shot because he flies a mountainous course, and also because the colors work so well with the bird. The snow cap draws your eye straight to the bird, which is and should be the focus. This truly is one of the favorite ads I have ever created, each time I see it, my eyes still say "that's beautiful". |
